Here at MIE we believe the best thing for our young people is not to be segregated from the rest of the church family, but to stay in the services, and worship and serve alongside the adults. You might see some in the Music or Tech teams, or reading or praying! We think young people are fully intellectually capable of understanding and engaging with our worship.
However, we understand that it’s a big jump up from Sunday School, and we want to make it as easy a possible. Listening to sermons is particularly quite a big adjustment! We want to help you with that in whatever way works best for you!
There are mini clipboards with sheets to take notes during the sermon available at to help our young people engage with the preaching.
This little booklet called Listen Up might help you think about how to listen to a sermon.
Sermon Notebook
Listening well to sermons can be hard. Getting lasting benefit from them even harder. But the practical advice in this Sermon Notebook, together with the new routine it encourages you to adopt, will help you feed more eagerly, deeply and satisfyingly from the spiritual food that is presented to you each week from God’s word.
Start children off on the way they should go,
and even when they are old they will not turn from it.Proverbs 22:6
